6. County competition for school students in the Hungarian language held in Bákó (Bacău)

On 14 February, Saturday, Hungarian words again resounded through the Domniţa Maria Primary School in Bákó. We awaited primary school students for the competition in the Hungarian language, who are also learning Hungarian within the county.
Three students of each location of the 19 education centres involved in the Csángó educational programme were given the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge obtained in Hungarian classes within the framework of the county competition jointly organised by the School Board of Bákó county, the aforementioned school and MCSMSZ (courses in the village of Szitás were launched during the present school year and understandably they were still unable to send students to the competition). The students proved to be the cleverest in the local preliminary contests held in the villages travelled to the county town.

Thanks to the Fornetti company, after a delicious breakfast at 10:00 o’clock, the children awaited anxiously in three rooms to receive the list of exam questions. Similarly to last year, students of three age groups competed in the rooms, belonging to classes 1st-4th, 5th-6th and 7th-8th.
Exam questions are available here: 1st-4th graders, 5th-6th graders, 7th-8th graders.
The children took task solving seriously and wrote their exam papers for almost three hours. After lunch, everybody was impatient waiting for the announcement of the results, while “behind closed doors” certainly hard work was going on, tests were corrected and scored.
We thank Lilla Ferencz, Melánia Kovács, Éva Ferencz, Máté Varga, Magdolna Turcsik, Gabriella and Endre Farkas-Ferencz for their participation in the correction of the tests!
The results were announced in a laid-back atmosphere, and no one of the students was left without a gift. It was a pleasure to see the pride of the place winners and their teachers!
